# Tech has changed journo hiring priorities

There's more of an emphasis on "finding talents, encouraging creative thinking and introducing innovation" instead of traditional journalistic skills. 

If my personal experience is anything to go by, whatever's being taught in journalism classes at university these days hasn't made new journalists distinguishable from someome taken from the street and given a day's training in terms of ability to do what I'd been asking of them.
